Busy March for EVMT
It’s been a busy month so far for EVMT.
EVMT’s Managing Director, Dr Mark Townley, continued to support the development of students attending South West STEM Generation programme at Braunton Academy and Ivybridge Community College. Mornings were spent discussing career progression and required preparations for Apprenticeships, College, University and job interviews including the importance of good and accurate job applications and CVs. EVMT would like to thank Ralph Birkmyre for arranging the liaison days which provided both the presenters and students an excellent platform to discuss their futures and particularly the impact of technological change. Further information about the STEM Generation programme can be obtained at cswgroup.co.uk.
The South West Business Expo was a very exciting event to attend. Boasting around 275 exhibitors, ranging from Cancer Research UK to the University of Exeter, with an array of business, marketing and charity stalls throughout the venue - there was definitely plenty to see and do.
EVMT attended with the purpose of networking and getting a taste of the businesses which surround the local area. It was also a great opportunity to see how the expo worked if EVMT were to have their own stall in future years.
After a coffee and team discussion it was time to start chatting with companies and exchanging information in the hopes of making professional contacts for future projects. In particular EVMT were interested in (and had wonderful conversations with), University of Exeter and Petroc College. There are also hopes of working along side Exeter Football Club and attending meetings with the Exeter Business Club.
All-in-all, the day was a success with the expo being very interesting and informative. Below are few snaps our Marketing Manager quickly grabbed on the way round. As you can see, it wasn't just people who turned up to the event.
