EVMT provide virtual work placement for Solent postgraduate student

EVMT has recently taken on Harvey Taylor in support of the Solent University virtual placements for their MA PR and Multimedia Communication and MSc Marketing students. Harvey is studying for a MA in PR and Multimedia Communication and as part of his work experience module was asked to conduct a marketing survey of the potential and serviceable Marine Conservation and Sustainability business opportunities form a Project Management view.

Our Sales and Marketing Manager, Emma, contacted Harvey to ask him his thoughts on the placement:

Hello, Harvey. Could you please tell us a bit more about the course you're studying at Solent University and how you feel the work you're undertaking with EVMT will help with your career prospects?

Hi, Emma. My name is Harvey Taylor and I am currently studying a masters in PR and Multimedia Communication at Solent University, after graduating with a first class honours degree in marketing - also from Solent.

This particular unit on my course is called Professional Development which allows students to develop skills in their chosen industry through real world learning from a company of their choosing; my chosen profession being marketing. I also have an interest in conservation and would like more experience of working in this field so this placement really jumped out at me as I was asked to work on the EVMT ProgRess Limited Marine Conservation and Sustainability Marketing Plan as well as many other marketing tasks.

The work I am doing at EVMT is helping me gain vital experience to help me in my future and also some other current units I am working on. I feel very lucky to have this placement and to have a lot of experience available to guide me.

Managing Director, Mark Townley said that "it was a pleasure to work with Harvey and allow him a small glimpse into the world of business. EVMT would like to thank Harvey for all his efforts and wish him well in his future career".

This isn't the first time EVMT have worked with a Solent University student on this particular course module, as Sales and Marketing Manager, Emma also worked on a pilot project for Community First during her MSc Marketing course as a joint collaboration between both businesses.

EVMT have also worked with universities including Exeter and Swansea and are in discussions regarding sponsorship in the future. If you would like to find out more please get in touch via email at evmtmarketing@gmail.com
